Dairy Herd Manager Job - Nsw, Australia

We require an efficient, reliable full time Herd Manager for our family owned and operated large dairy farm at Quaama, NSW (26kms North of Bega), Australia. We are milking 700+ Holstein cows through a 50 unit Rotary Dairy calving three times a year. The dairy has GEA CowScout, automatic ID, feeding, drafting, cup removers and milk meters. We are predominantly a large dryland grass based dairy farm with a developing beef operation as we rear all our progeny. We operate on a fortnightly roster, with regular rostered time off (3/1 days), working every second weekend. The successful applicant will initially work closely with the farm owner and existing staff with increasing levels of independence and leadership required. The position would suit someone with a passion for dairy cows and looking to progress in the industry. The successful candidate: A minimum of 4 years experience, some formal qualifications and excellent skills in animal Husbandry Attention to detail and the ability to manage, support, train and maintain quality staff is essential Experience with artificial insemination and GEA Dairy Plan Software is an advantage An attractive remuneration package is available for the right applicant, including a newly renovated 4 bedroom house on farm.
