The Course Director (Film and Animation) is responsible for overseeing the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of a suite of cognate academic courses at SAE.
Reporting to the Dean, the Course Director's primary objectives are:
Drive course quality and compliance, including curriculum review and development, ensuring the currency of curriculum to support strong graduate outcomes.Identifying new opportunities in the market and develop and implement new course and unit proposals.Lead scholarship and creative practice in the discipline group and establish SAE as a leader in the discipline.Build relationships with scholars and industry partners which benefit the currency of SAE's curriculum and raise the professional standing of the institute both domestically and globally.The person we seek will ideally have the following: A doctoral degree or relevant postgraduate qualification AQF 10, or near completion in the field of the course or a closely related discipline.Excellent understanding of the Higher Education Standards.A track record in scholarship and/or creative practice in a relevant discipline.Significant teaching and learning leadership experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.Demonstrated expertise and currency in the subject matter and relevant industry practices.Experience in curriculum development and assessment design.Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Core Competencies: Excellent leadership and management abilities, with a focus on fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.In-depth understanding of effective teaching strategies and pedagogical approaches.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.Commitment to continuous improvement and staying abreast of developments in the field.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate faculty and students.Adaptability and flexibility in responding to changing needs and priorities within the academic environment.Personal Attributes: Strong leadership presence and the ability to inspire and motivate others.Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with faculty, staff, and students.Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team-oriented environment.Resilience and the ability to navigate and resolve conflicts or challenges.Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.About Us: Established in 1976, SAE University College is Australia's leading private educator in niche creative programs, and globally SAE delivers offerings to over 10,000 students at more than 50 campuses around the world.
