About the Position The City of Stirling is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic,and motivated professional to lead the City's EconomicDevelopment team. As the ideal candidate, you will lead a teamresponsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhancelocal and regional economic and tourism development programs, andimplementing initiatives that support local businesses. Your team will also be responsible for identifying anddeveloping funding strategies and options to deliver priority plansand strategies that support local businesses and economicdevelopment for the City with the goal of business retention,expansion and attraction and local employment opportunitygrowth. Key Responsibilities The key duties of the Coordinator Economic Developmentinclude: Coordinate activities and provide advice to supportCity-wide economic and tourism development programs andinitiatives. Engage and consult with business, the community, andstakeholders to identify their requirements and use thisinformation to guide strategy, policy, plans and action. Monitor and review financial budgets to identify and reportvariations and amended forecasts to the Manager CityFuture. Promote the positive and collaborative culture and valuesof the organisation through open, fair, and transparentdecision making and ethical, professional behaviour. Lead a team of Economic Development professionals. Tertiary qualifications (Degree) in Economics or Businessor equivalent Excellent public relations skills and demonstrated abilityto negotiate and liaise with all levels of government,businesses, the community and key project stakeholders. Demonstrated financial management skills related tofeasibility studies, business cases and projects. Demonstrated experience leading a team. Experience in land and property dealings within a LocalGovernment environment.
