We have an exciting opportunity to join our National Estimating team. We are looking for an experienced Estimator with over five years experience as a Commercial Estimator and who wishes to develop their skills and career to join the ASKIN National estimating team based out of South Melbourne. We are seeking to appoint an estimator filling a senior position and who has a strong sense of ownership over their work and will assist with the tendering on construction projects across Australia and New Zealand in varying degrees of complexities. The remuneration package will be base on years of experience and skill level. Required skills and duties include: Summarizing scope of works and tender datasets, experience with EstimateOne, Bidcontender, and Aconex will be an advantage. Take off using plans to ASMM / general industry practices and understanding specification. Consulting with engineering and the design team to clarify buildability. Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and internal procurement team to negotiate pricing. Project estimating as per tender requirements and providing cost engineered options. Estimate hand over to contracts team. Meeting deadlines is crucial as the successful applicant will be working on multiple projects simultaneously that have a broad range of scope and value. To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following attributes; A construction related qualification / education and background. 5 years+ Experience in an estimating team in an Australia Commercial environment. Estimating software experience will be an advantage (CostX is the estimating package used), ERP systems, Word and Excel. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Preparation of tenders using 'first principles' pricing. The remuneration package will be defined by the work experience and skill of the individual applicant.
