The role will be managing the development and production of ABC TV's external commissioned slate of Children and Family programs.
This Executive Level role will see you deliver distinctive projects that demonstrate value in quality, originality, and diversity to fulfil the strategic aims of the ABC.The JobCreative and Editorial Leadership Managing the development and production of ABC Children and Family live action, animation and factual content of the highest quality, consistent with the aims of ABC Children and Family.
Identifying and developing new entertainment with an emphasis on popular, original, and diverse content across all age groups.
Stakeholder Management Establishing and maintaining effective external stakeholder relationships with suppliers, relevant television and film funding organisations, production companies and independent producers, both locally and internationally.Encouraging and maintaining key relationships within the Content division and across the ABC.
Position Description: About YouThis role will appeal to an accomplished Commissioning Editor who is energetic and thrives in a dynamic fast paced environment.
You are passionate about children and family entertainment.You will be creative, decisive, and versatile, possessing the ability to work under pressure and have the experience to manage the development and production of television content of the highest quality.
You will also have: Proven knowledge of local and international trends in Children and Family content and be able to demonstrate a diverse taste in content and a wide range of experience across genres and program styles.A high-level of editorial skill with the proven ability to develop programs that are in line with broadcaster objectives as well as meet the aims of the intended program.Sound creative judgement in production including selection of cast and crew, review of rushes, input into editing, music, and sound mixes.An understanding of financing and broadcasting in the Australian and international marketplace.
