Health Information Services
Under the direction of the HIS Management Team, the Health Information Clerk performs clerical duties to ensure that patient records, both electronic and paper based patient records are complete, up to date and maintained. Integral to ensuring that internal and external customers are provided with an efficient and effective Health Information Service, the HIS Clerk will provide cover for other HIS staff who are on planned or unplanned leave, where required.
Your contribution
Ensure medical records are made available for reference to Outpatient clinics one day prior to appointment and to Emergency within specified timeframes (10 minutes from request)
Accuracy of filing medical records in assigned bays
Ensure data entry is completed in line with the Women’s Data Integrity Framework
Respond to customers in person and on the phone in a timely and polite manner
Fulfill customer requests as soon as possible and escalate to HIS management if required
Communicate any service delays to customers
About you
To be successful within this role you will need to have:
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
To be able to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to multitask and balance a number of clerical systems
Competent computer literacy including use of a PC, mouse, keyboard, standard Microsoft office software
Ability to accurately and efficiently input and extract data from computer systems
Ability and judgement to analyze situations and information, in order to identify errors or problems, take appropriate action, resolve or refer to other areas/next steps
Ability to read and understand electronic dashboard information and written reports
Ability to read and write fluently in English
