Thepurpose of this roleis to help influence and then execute the direction of the national claims strategy. This role is expected to set a culture of client advocacy whilst continually driving operational efficiency. This role is involved in providing or facilitating technical support to complex client needs, producing accurate, efficient and timely related documentation of assigned claims
This is a great opportunity and to be considered, we are seeking a min of 5 years' experience in a similar role, plus:
• The ability to work closely with other Claims Managers and workload balance with other Claims Hubs .
• There is a strong focus on using the best technical claims expert to help our clients even if they are interstate. You must be proactive in this
• Lead and engage team members in planning, organising, controlling and directing of the claims team.
• Experience in ISR, construction, heavy mining claims is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of Long tail claims
• Deep understanding of insurance laws ( such as Insurance Contracts Act) and how these apply to claims handling
• Ability to bring all the parties in a claim (insurer, broker, client etc.) together and achieve an outcome that satisfies all
• Ability to build trust with Brokers through technical claims leadership
• Represent Gallagher locally where there is Claims leadership needed on new business or retention responses or as part of the Perth senior management team
• Continually look for ways to improve efficiency and client outcomes.
• Ensuring that the Company remains fully informed and receptive to change by monitoring industry/market and legal trends and providing recommendations for change strategies.
• Building and maintaining long term relationships with insurers, loss adjustors and other external bodies
• Occasionally assist in managing PI claims and providing solutions in conjunction with Legal, including the ongoing relationship management with the branch and client.
• Coaching and mentoring Claims team members to improve business methods and practices - in particular active use of the claims quality assurance process.
• Oversee and be involved where necessary of all large and potentially complicated claim related matters and assist claims personnel in the negotiation of equitable claims settlements on behalf of clients.
• Review complex claims cases, assess service provided and acceptability of estimates.
• Provide advice/instruction to staff, solicitors and assessors as may be required.
• Liaise with Branch Manager and broking staff providing relevant claims information, advice and structured solutions to their claims management issues where needed.
• Claims Assessment - Interpret policy wording and review circumstances.
• Provide reports and statistics on claims on a regular basis and as required.
• Report to Head of Claims the outcomes of achievement of service standards and compliance requirements.
