About The Team Sitting in the Planning and Regulation department, City Standards is responsible for developing the City's standards and local laws and issuing of City enforced permits to residents and organisations. The Licenses and Permits business unit is responsible for issuing permits/licences/approvals across multiple services including:
Events Temporary road closures Advertising devices City Laws approvals Environmental Health permits Trade waste Animal registrations Parking About Your New Role Would you like to be part of a small, high performing team that has fun, is solutions focused and tries to find a way to say yes whilst ensuring that decision making is effective and legal?
City Laws Approval Officers are responsible for assessing and managing applications and approvals for a diverse range of activities on Council managed land including Film and TV production, Busking, Roadside Dining and Community Activities.
We're Looking For People Who Have Demonstrated experience in stakeholder relationship management to facilitate positive working relationships. A track record of achieving positive outcomes to complex requests within short timeframes. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Excellent organisational skills which allow you to manage your time and conflicting priorities efficiently. Experience in assessing applications and issuing approvals/refusals. Knowledge of Council's Local Laws and an understanding of the City Plan. A desire to work in a collaborative, vibrant and busy team. A current C Class Drivers Licence.
