Performing Arts (Advertising, Arts & Media)
We are seeking a full-time permanent Chorus Manager, reporting to the Senior Manager, Artistic.
The Chorus Manager is the primary contact in relation to day-to-day Chorus management and administration.
This includes assisting the Chorus Master and Assistant Chorus Master with management of all activities related to the Chorus; and liaison with the People team in relation to contracts.
In addition, this role will support the Senior Manager, Artistic with expenditure management, budgeting, artistic resource management and general matters.
Key Areas of focus
Artistic Management and Administration:
Provide support to Senior Manager, Artistic; Manager, Artistic; Chorus Master; Assistant Chorus Master; and respective Producers in planning and management of all Chorus activities related to current and future seasons and projects.
Provide administrative support to the Senior Manager, Artistic in the allocation of principal roles and covers to choristers from time to time.
Develop and manage all Chorus elements of the Master Schedule and Weekly Schedule.
In consultation with the Chorus Master and Assistant Chorus Master, coordinate the engagement of permanent, seasonal and casual Chorus employees, including children and their supervisors, in liaison with the People team and in accordance with relevant procedures, compliance with statutory requirements and company policy, and relevant budgets where applicable.
Act as primary contact, and liaise with Company Office and other relevant parties, in relation to all Chorus and schedule matters, EA compliance and workplace policy.
Manage leave of Chorus employees.
Support the Chorus Master in managing the personal welfare, conduct, professional development and performance of Chorus employees.
Support General Auditions and maintain casual chorus lists.
Manage the work permit requirements for the engagement of Children as required from time to time.
Prepare paysheets and instruct Payroll concerning weekly and fortnightly payroll processing of permanent, seasonal, and casual Chorus, and all related matters.
Team Management:

About you
We are seeking candidates who have high level problem solving and judgement skills.
You will have advanced attention to detail, as well as exceptional communication skills and time management.
You will have:
Tertiary Qualifications in music, arts or other related field.
4+ years' proven experience in the area(s) of performing arts administration.
Demonstrated experience in management of diverse groups.
An empathy and passion for the artistic and creative process.
Sound organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a polite and professional manner.
Knowledge of opera repertoire.
A demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
A team player who is collegial, self-motivated and shows initiative.
Sound computer literacy (Word, Excel) and database experience.
Ability to read and interpret musical scores.
Highly developed scheduling skills.
Strong numerical aptitude with proven experience in budgeting and payroll.
Understanding of Enterprise Bargaining Agreements.
It is preferred you have:
Demonstrated experience in WH&S.
Appointment to this position is subject to the position holder having residency status and/or possessing a visa with work rights.
