Chief Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer We are currently recruiting an experienced Chief Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Chief LAME) to work for an established aviation maintenance specialist to ensure the airworthiness and safety of private, charter and corporate aircraft fleet.
The Chief Engineer serves as a main point of contact regarding all maintenance work performed and will provide the Engineering Manager information to relay to the customer.
The Chief Engineer is responsible for the overall safety, compliance and the quality of the maintenance deliverables.
Location: Melbourne, VIC Duration: Permanent Relocation: Interstate relocation package if required (from within Australia only) Responsibilities Identify and correct malfunctioning jet, turboprop and multi-engine aircraft components and systems, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and to the highest standard possible.
Supervise, assign and direct engineering team members and support personnel to perform maintenance in line with schedules to maximise efficiency of the team.
Liaise with the Engineering Manager ensuring aircraft requirements are coordinated and clearly communicated.
Review and manage aircraft technical work scope prior, during and post maintenance to ensure accuracy prior to aircraft departure.
Follow-up aircraft post-delivery with the Engineering Manager, ensuring maintenance visits or open issues involving parts or return maintenance are addressed.
Ensure all maintenance is carried out using appropriate aviation parts and components ordered through the company's inventory department.
Monitor maintenance personnel for tool control and accountability.
Perform, implement and maintain any required shift/task handovers.
Monitor and maintain the work environment, including the general condition, upkeep and housekeeping of any hangar, workshop or related work area and vehicle.
Ensure GSE, tooling, equipment and any applicable vehicles are maintained.
Ensure the availability of all necessary resources including manpower, facilities, equipment and maintenance data.
Required Experience CASA Part 66 B1 or B2 License.
Be able to obtain Airport Security Identification Card (ASIC).
5+ years Aircraft Maintenance experience, providing a broad scope of knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices and procedures.
Full Australian working rights – must have current Permanent Residency or Citizenship.
