About the role: We are searching for a dedicated Chef Manager to work in a private girls Boarding School near the city center of Hobart, TAS. The school is home to 50 boarders & staff. The operation also includes the running of two student cafe/canteens. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing nutritious and high-quality meals, running College functions, ensuring Food Safety and Kitchen Hygiene, WHS, and managing the catering team.
College functions range from working group lunches to cocktail parties to sit down formal events.
Hours of employment: 40 hours per week. (Fulltime position)Monday to Friday shifts only.Weekend and Public Holiday Loadings apply if worked.Occasional weekends and weekdays evening work may be required to manage functions.*The applicant must have a Valid Working with Vulnerable People Check from Service TAS or be willing to apply for one. Key attributes and responsibilities: Previous experience is essential.3+ years' experience in a similar role.Commercial cookery background or Hospitality Industry Qualification desirable.Demonstrated and proven budget and cost management experience.High level of QA, WH&S, HACCP, and Food Safety knowledge.Empathy towards students, staff, and clients.Ability to lead the kitchen team.Produce high quality, nutritious, and well-presented meals in line with food service guidelines.Responsible for rostering and day-to-day supervision/management of team members.Menu design and implementation and computer literacy.Have reliable transport.Benefits and perks: The successful applicant will be offered a competitive salary in the vicinity of $90,000 depending on experience.
