Continuing, full time appointment Level 8/9: $107,882 - $133,850 + 17% superannuation The Facilities Management Division has primary responsibility for the provision and care of the University of Wollongong campuses. The Division supports the University's students and employees through the delivery of assets and provision of services of outstanding learning, teaching, research, and recreational spaces, which ensure a safe, sustainable, and well-presented environment for all campus users to enjoy. The Campus Planning Unit are tasked with delivering the University Master Plan and Campus Infrastructure Plans, while developing long term strategies for key issues to address the immediate and future needs of the university. The unit are seeking a Campus Planning and Design Manager to join their team and provide strategic direction, leadership and advice to ensure projects deliver quantifiable benefits that are aligned to the university's strategic objectives and meet compliance and legislation standards.The Campus Planning and Design Manager will lead design activities including but not limited to, new buildings, teaching, learning and research infrastructure and refurbishments of buildings and campus grounds. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and confidently to lead, guide and motivate others to deliver outcomes and will use initiative to resolve issues and conflicts in situations of competing priorities.You will have significant experience and knowledge of design issues and space management requirements in a university context, and the ability to develop, interpret and apply design and organisational policies and procedures in a large organisation. You will also have significant experience and knowledge of the various planning pathways and subsequent approval processes required in a large complex institution. Your high personal standards and strong work ethic will enable you to work independently and take ownership of your work. Your highly developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills will be paramount as you gain a deeper understanding of stakeholder needs and manage their expectations through open communication, a flexible approach and providing exceptional customer service.
