The Role

After exceeding all growth expectations since launching in Australia, Hengst Australia is now seeking an exceptional Business Development Manager to drive filtration sales across the Eastern Seaboard of Australia. This role presents a unique opportunity to join a family-owned company with a rich history and a global reputation for innovation and excellence. The position reports to the Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand.
  
As the Business Development Manager – Eastern Seaboard, you will play a pivotal role in expanding Hengst's presence in Australia. You will focus on market development, nurturing existing client relationships, and fostering new business opportunities within OEMs, Distribution channels, and End User contracts. Your role will be instrumental in shaping the growth trajectory of Hengst Australia's filtration solutions.
  
The Person

To excel in this role, you must possess:
  
Deep experience with a minimum of 5 years of sales experience specifically in Hydraulic & Lubrication filtration, demonstrating your deep expertise in the field.
Commercial acumen combined with technical proficiency in Hydraulic & Lubrication filtration solutions to effectively communicate and address customer needs.
A proactive mindset with a talent for spotting opportunities, initiating contact and with solid closing skills.
Self-motivation and independence, with a proven track record of achieving customer-focused results.
Strong collaboration skills enabling you to thrive in both team environments and as an individual contributor.
Proficiency in remote work demonstrating your capacity to perform effectively even when working away from the central office.
Experience managing Distribution, OEM, and End-User channels showcasing your ability to foster diverse business relationships.
An innate aptitude for sales and a growth-focused mindset that drives positive results.
Expertise in discovering and addressing customers unmet needs underscoring your ability to provide tailored solutions.
Outstanding presentation skills with the adaptability to engage diverse audiences with a professional demeanour and personal presentation.
Effective time management, record-keeping and communication skills.
Capability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, showcasing your ability to thrive under pressure.
High emotional intelligence reflecting qualities like self-awareness, empathy, social skills, motivation, and self-regulation.

Proficiency in MS Office and SAP ERP (ideal).

A valid and full driver's license as well as a willingness to travel as needed to serve the Eastern Seaboard customers and markets. Demonstrable sales and technical experience in Hydraulic & Lubrication Filtration. Comprehensive knowledge of mobile and industrial hydraulic applications. Familiarity with Mining, Oil & Gas, Ball & SAG Mill, Bunded Diesel, and Hydraulic Power Unit markets. Proven experience in an autonomous business development role. Hengst Filtration Australia is headquartered in Western Sydney. Candidates located outside of Sydney can work remotely (WFH) and could be based along Australia's Eastern Seaboard.
