Introduction of the role:
The Course (Program) Coordinator for Business and Accounting at Charles Sturt University Melbourne is a critical leadership role responsible for the strategic development, coordination, and oversight of the Business and Accounting courses to ensure course compliance, development, and quality assurance.
The primary objective of this position is to ensure the quality and relevance of the courses while fostering a dynamic, inclusive, and innovative educational environment.
For the 2025 teaching year, the role will be part-time (0.5FTE) but the expectation is that the role will convert to full-time (1FTE) from 2026 onwards.
The successful applicant will be able to top up hours worked in 2025 with paid sessional teaching within the Charles Sturt University Melbourne offerings based on subject area expertise.
Responsibilities include:
Lead a team of dedicated teaching staff, guide students, and play a pivotal role in the growth and success of Business and Accounting.
Ensure the delivery of all CSUS Business and Accounting courses is of high standard and compliant with institutional and regulatory requirements.
Mentor teaching staff to use student-centred teaching and learning approaches using presentations, group activities, tutorials, and assessments in Business and Accounting related subjects.
Monitor and maintain academic standards, ensuring course compliance with CSU policies and procedures.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and academic support to students, ensuring their success in Business and Accounting.
Oversee curriculum, assessment, and course improvement, introducing new courses and specialisations, ensuring alignment with industry trends, professional body expectations, and best practices.
Engage students through student-centred teaching and learning approaches using presentations, group activities, tutorials, and assessments in Business and Accounting related subjects.
It is essential candidates demonstrate the following essential criteria:

or equivalent qualification in Business and/or Accounting.
Record of academic and research excellence.
Membership in a relevant professional association.
Demonstrated leadership and teaching experience in a tertiary environment.
Track record of scholarship and/or advanced professional practice.
Familiarity with academic quality assurance and TEQSA processes.
Ability to lead a team to achieve an exceptional student experience.
