Azure Engineer

Our well-known Federal Government client is seeking an experienced Azure Engineer to manage and enhance its system infrastructure, spanning on-premises servers, multi-cloud environments, Office 365 applications, standard operating environments, and end-user device management.
This role supports a large program of work, a large-scale transformation initiative focused on modernizing the Departments systems for a secure and agile technology platform.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate across teams to design, implement, and test system enhancements that align with business needs and development standards.
Provide expert support to resolve complex issues within infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code environments, focusing on Azure platform stability and functionality.
Document and develop automation technologies to enhance system build, testing, and deployment capabilities.
Support DevOps processes, assisting with the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
Contribute as part of an Agile Delivery Team, maintaining high standards of technical and design documentation to meet project deadlines.
Mandatory Qualifications & Skills
Azure Expertise : Proven experience with Azure enterprise solutions, including:Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Serverless Compute (Azure Functions, Web Apps) Storage solutions (blobs, file shares, queues, tables) Integration tools (Service Bus, Event Hub) Identity services (Entra ID, Azure B2C, Entra ID Connect) API Management (APIM) Azure Infrastructure Management : Demonstrated experience in migrating, managing, and maintaining solutions on Azure.
Cost Optimization & Patching : Proficiency in optimizing costs and managing patching activities within Azure environments.
Networking Knowledge : Strong understanding of Azure networking concepts and best practices.
Risk Management & Compliance : Knowledge of risk management principles and security best practices for cloud infrastructure.
Collaboration Skills : Ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels, influencing stakeholders effectively.
Monitoring & Reliability : Experience with monitoring tools and logging frameworks to ensure solution reliability and security.
Desirable Skills
IT qualifications, particularly cloud certifications.
Experience in developing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps with Bicep/ARM templates.
Knowledge of GIT version control and branching strategies.
Familiarity with IT frameworks (ITIL, TOGAF) and Commonwealth ICT frameworks.
AGSVA Baseline clearance or above is mandatory for this role.
