The Aviation Specialist is an integral role within the Property & Travel team. This role will manage the aviation operator safety standards and be the subject matter expert in this field, collaborating with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

The Aviation Specialist is an integral role within the Property & Travel team. This role will manage the aviation operator safety standards and be the subject matter expert in this field, collaborating with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
Key ResponsibilitiesReview, update and maintain the Aviation Standard & supporting procedures/documentsMain point of contact and serve as the subject matter expert in aviation related air operations & safety standardsDevelop aviation management plans & Rotary/Fixed wing trip plansBARS program interface and company representativeCoordinate aviation stakeholder working groups.Coordinate operational and safety audits of service providersMaintain the master risk register for the Travel team. Coordinate and actively participate in risk assessmentsShare knowledge and best practices within the teamProvide advice based on regulatory requirementsMaintain professional contact with clients and ensure adherence to aviation compliance standardsFollow-up and close out issues raised in the course of their dutiesProvide training to stakeholders if and when requiredQualifications and ExperiencePreferably hold or held a commercial pilots licenceStrong understanding of international aviation regulations & frameworksDemonstrated track record of technical expertise within Aviation safety, preferably with an aviation provider or auditing firmFamiliarity with the resource sector/ off shore industry aviation safety standardsHighly developed skills of coordination, scheduling, record management, organisational planning, problem-solving and the ability to work autonomouslyExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical findings to non-technical stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to engage and liaise with diverse stakeholders to meet customer needs and satisfactionA collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.Our CommitmentFortescue is deeply committed to providing a safe culture that builds respect, fosters inclusiveness, and values diversity.
