Enjoy career growth opportunities, a strong focus on diversity and inclusion, and a safety-first culture.About your new role: As a member of the Substation Design & Engineering team based in either Cairns or Victoria Park (Brisbane), you will apply your knowledge and experience to successfully deliver safe, effective, and efficient design and commissioning support.This is a technical role where you work under an RPEQ and will be involved in the design and delivery of real time control systems, delivering on multiple projects to upgrade existing diesel generation assets, implementing new technology, and migrating to renewable energy sources as part of enabling the net-zero emissions future. You will be mentored by and be an valued part of a small team of highly skilled engineers with decades of experience.This is your chance to show your passion to saving the planet, gain experience working in power generation in remote communities as we design and install batteries, solar and hybrid systems. Some site commissioning is required but is very limited and very well rewarded. All overtime is paid at overtimes rates including multiple allowances. See parts of Australia that no one else will ever see.Annual salary ranges from $139,032.00 to $167,311.00 + Super; 9 or 10-day fortnight. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant's knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Diversity and Inclusion where all employees can contribute towards multiple diversity and inclusion initiatives across our business About you: As an Automation Design Paraprofessional, you will have: An Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or relevant equivalent qualification).Queensland Electrical Licensing Board Certificate of Competency as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic is desirable but not essential.Electricity industry experience is highly desirable but not essential.In depth knowledge and demonstrated experience in the design principles and practices of automation control systems and SCADA.Expertise in automation systems construction, installation, testing and commissioning requirements, maintenance and operations. Experience in high voltage plant and equipment and secondary systems is highly desirable but not essential.Knowledge of the Safe Design principles and Safety requirements as a control systems para-professional.Ability to work as part of a team - develop and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders and a willingness to contribute to development of peers through technical support and knowledge and experience sharing.
