About the team The Performance Systems and Paralympic Partnerships Branch plays a critical role in driving Australia's High Performance 2032+ Sport Strategy (Win Well Strategy), with a dedicated focus on leveraging the strategic partnerships within the high performance sport system and enhancing Paralympic sports outcomes. This branch collaborates with key high performance partners including the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), Paralympics Australia (PA), and State Institutes and Academies of Sport (SISSAS) to deliver system-wide initiatives and projects that strengthen the high performance ecosystem.
About the role The Director, Paralympic Unit will play a pivotal role in driving the development and delivery of Paralympic programs across Australia. This role requires a strategic and collaborative leader who can effectively manage relationships with key stakeholders, including NSOs, SISSAS, and PA. The successful candidate will manage a team and oversee the coordination and implementation of system-led Paralympic projects, ensuring alignment with broader strategic goals and fostering a high performance environment.
About you The successful candidate will have:
Extensive experience in project management within a high performance sport environment. Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects with a focus on strategic outcomes. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. An understanding of the Paralympic movement and a commitment to advancing opportunities for para-athletes. Experience working within the Paralympic sector or with para-athletes (Preferred, not essential). Familiarity with classification systems and their application within Paralympic sport (Preferred, not essential). Experience in data analysis and the use of insights to drive program improvement (Preferred, not essential). This position is offered as a fixed-term position until 30 June 2026 .
