AUS (Sydney) - Corporate Services Officer, AO Reporting to the Corporate Services Team in Canberra, this role is responsible for being the first point of contact for resolution of local issues that fall under the corporate services remit in the British High Commission, Canberra or British Consulate General, Sydney.
The job holder will be responsible for providing high quality Corporate Services delivery across Australia Network, including procuring and requisitioning goods and services for Corporate Services. The jobholder requires strong (written and verbal) communication and prioritisation skills, with agility in operating under ambiguity.
The job holder will also be providing support to the Lead IT Support Officer (ITSO) and assist in delivering operational and strategic ICT tasks in accordance with London IDD ensuring compliance, business resilience and business continuity, as well as regular systems, hardware maintenance, and repairs.
The role is similar in content and seniority to others AO roles in the wider UK Government operation in Australia. People applying for this position may be considered for other vacancies in the Network.

Roles and Responsibilities The role requires a strong communicator with good interpersonal skills to enable them to develop trust with senior leadership and other key stakeholders across the network including local government. We will recruit someone with good judgement and discretion with corporate in confidence data (HR, Finance, Procurement, Contracts, etc.). The ability to quickly understand which contracts offer value for money to the UK will be important.
We are looking for someone with a strong sense of collaboration. They will enjoy and be given the opportunity to operate autonomously and have a strong degree of ownership of particular areas of corporate service delivery.
Key Responsibilities Estates: Proactive management of the Sydney Office, ensuring safety of staff and visitors and management of office stationery and kitchen supplies.
Governance: Support on key corporate policies and procedures ensuring FCDO health & safety policy, procedures, and systems are understood, implemented, supported, and monitored at the office and residential properties in Sydney. Provide secretariat support for corporate services committees as directed by the Head of Corporate Services.
Security: Support a well-managed security environment at Post, ensuring that physical and data security procedures are understood and compliant. Being the liaison point for building management and CS in Canberra.
Information & Technology: Upkeep of asset management/inventory of ICT equipment for Sydney Office. Provide IT support under the guidance of the lead IT Support Officer as necessary. Support Information Management Officer by maintaining up-to-date Post Information Asset Register (IAR).
Finance: Provide logistical support for Sydney office ensuring value for money. Provide finance procurement and requisitioning duties as directed by network corporate services team.
Other core CS duties: Monitor and respond to the Australia Enquiry mailbox. Assist other members of the Corporate Services team as required and ad hoc Corporate Services project work.
