The position supports Community Corrections to provide assessments and evidence-based interventions for complex offenders who present at significant risk of committing sexually motivated, violent or other offences with a likelihood of significant harm in the future.

Hours per fortnight 73.50 hours per fortnight- flexible options available.
Duties Develop, implement and maintain a complex and high risk offender case management framework for Community Corrections. Undertake comprehensive assessment and treatment planning for complex offenders and those at risk of committing high consequence and/or sexually motivated offences, in line with contemporary best practice approaches. Provide evidence-based one-on-one counselling and best practice interventions to complex and high risk offenders at risk of committing violent and sexually motivated offences. Develop and procure a range of evidence-based, community-based interventions to support staff and offenders manage complex criminogenic risks and needs. Develop, implement and participate in case review and peer supervision frameworks for staff working with complex and high risk offenders subject to intervention. Work collaboratively with the Learning and Development Manager and Team Leaders to provide training, expert advice and case management support to Probation Officers working with complex and high risk offenders subject to community-based intervention. Maintain offender case notes, records and administrative information and prepare formal assessments and other reports in accordance with relevant practice standards. Perform other duties as envisaged by the assigned classification under the relevant industrial award or agreement and in accordance with the skills, competency, and training of the occupant. A degree of at least 3 years duration in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling or equivalent as provided by a recognised university. Arson and fire setting Violent crimes and crimes against the person Sex-related offences Drug and alcohol related offences Crimes involving dishonesty Crimes involving deception Making false declarations Malicious damage and destruction to property Serious traffic offences Crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice Crimes against Executive or the Legislative Power Crimes involving Conspiracy Disciplinary action in previous employment.
