Are you a strategic financial leader with a passion for delivering high-quality management reporting? This Federal Government department is looking for a dynamic Assistant Director of Management Reporting to guide critical financial processes, improve reporting, and deliver strategic insights that will shape key decisions.
As the Assistant Director, you will lead the management reporting function, ensuring timely, accurate, and insightful reporting that supports the Executive Board's decision-making and provides strategic advice to senior leaders. Shape Strategic Decisions: Deliver high-quality end-of-month reports and meaningful analysis that will directly influence decisions at the highest levels.Build Relationships & Influence: Work closely with finance business partners and senior leaders to understand the financial landscape and provide strategic guidance.Lead & Innovate: Take the lead in reviewing and improving current reporting processes and contribute to the roll-out of a new financial management information system.Collaborate Across Teams: Work with cross-functional teams and represent the department at internal and external meetings.Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and deliver high-quality end-of-month financial reports for the Executive Board to support decision-making.Work closely with finance business partners to provide meaningful analysis and insights on divisional financial results at the whole-of-department level.Review and improve current end-of-month reporting processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Provide strategic financial advice to the CFO, divisions, and the Executive Board on key financial and business issues.Play a key role in the roll-out of a new financial management information system, with a focus on improving management reporting.Contribute to the mid-year and annual internal budget setting processes.Prepare a range of written materials including reports, ministerial briefs, and department submissions.Lead, manage, and mentor team members, fostering a culture of clear communication, performance excellence, and continuous improvement.About You: What Will Make You Stand Out?
