Water recovery involves the acquisition of water entitlements that become a Commonwealth asset. The Conveyance Team facilitates the legal conveyance process whereby water is legally transferred from willing sellers across the Murray–Darling Basin to the Commonwealth, and the entitlements are held by the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder. Recovered water is then used to maintain the environmental health of the Basin. This is a specialist position in a regulatory program area.
The Key Duties of the Position Include: Lead a large and specialist team and maintain a high-performance culture. Oversee the preparation of conveyance documentation. Provide solutions to complex issues within short timeframes. Coordinate with key functional areas including legal, procurement, finance, the executive, delegates, and the Audit Office. Analyse data and provide independent advice. Maintain and provide quality assurance of records in the Water Entitlement Purchasing System (WEPS) to ensure compliance. Review WEPS processes and procedures and identify efficiency gains. Maintain in-depth knowledge of:The Water Act 2007 The Basin Plan 2012 State government water registration processes WEPS processes and procedures Water entitlements characteristics Procurement and contract management functions including reporting through AusTender. Security Clearance - this position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
