We have a vacancy for a detailed oriented, motivated, and highly organised professional to fill the role of Assistant Accountant within our Finance Department.
We are flexible with total hours and as such, while those hours are Monday to Friday in business hours, this could be structured as a full or part-time position, so could suit a university student or parent returning to the workforce.
Salary will be commensurate with experience for the right candidate.
Reporting to the Accountant and Financial Controller, you will be working on all aspects of financial reporting.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports for relevant stakeholders Assist with the maintenance of the general ledger Assist with the maintenance of the fixed asset register Assist with the preparation and delivery of month-end reconciliations Assist with the preparation and delivery of monthly reports and other ad hoc reports as required Assist with payroll processing Assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements as required Assist with internal budgeting preparation Assist with ensuring compliance with relevant statutory obligations including but not limited to superannuation, payroll tax, BAS, FBT, income tax Assist with the maintenance of and monitor compliance with Standard Operating Procedures Other business functions and duties as may reasonably be required About you This is a hands-on role and you will be required to show initiative, be flexible, and have an enthusiastic approach to tasks; it is essential that you are able to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities Hold or be currently studying relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, accountancy, or related discipline, or have relevant prior work experience which you can demonstrate covers the requirements of this role Have an eye for detail and accuracy Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work within a team and liaise appropriately with your direct managers and other employees within the business Ability to establish and build effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders (internal and external) Strong communication skills, ability to express information, thoughts, and ideas in a clear and appropriate manner Established knowledge and skills using computer-based Office systems, including Office 365 and Excel Keeping it above board – Eligibility criteria You must have existing unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
