Asic | Analyst/Lawyer - Strategic Surveillance | New South Wales

The role is available at two classifications: ASIC3 or ASIC4.
ASIC3 – from $78,720 + 15.4% superannuationASIC4 – from $94,198 + 15.4% superannuation As an Analyst/Lawyer, you will be accountable for: Assisting in the planning and conduct of reviews, through the identification, collection and analysis of information and data and the formulation of evidence/data.Clear and concise communication and reporting on surveillance and projects, including creating high quality detailed reports and other documents for a range of internal and external stakeholders which demonstrate results of surveillance.Assisting in the formulation of effective regulatory responses to address issues identified through surveillance activities.Utilising strategic, conceptual, analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills as well as drawing reasoned influences from qualitative and quantitative data and to reach robust and practical conclusions.Maintaining knowledge of ASIC's regulatory framework and toolkit, relevant legislative and reporting requirements, domestic and international developments, and best industry practice models.
About you A relevant tertiary qualification.Relevant regulatory or professional services knowledge or experience with broad knowledge of business models, business operations and regulatory requirements in the Australian financial services sector.Knowledge or experience applying regulatory or professional judgement and scepticism including the identification and assessment of risks, problems, or issues.Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects and take responsibility for outcomes.Conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills as well as drawing reasoned inferences from quantitative and qualitative data, to reach robust and practical conclusions.An ability to assess, verify and challenge complex information, and making sound regulatory judgements.Curiosity and the ability to think quickly.Strong writing and editing skills including the ability to distil key insights, strong attention to detail in all technical matters and a continuous improvement approach to process and practice.Confidence engaging with others, participating in difficult and challenging discussions, and asking probing questions.Ability to work through challenging, ambiguous, and complex issues calmly and logically.
