*Closing Date: 9 AM Thursday 6 June 2024 face2face reference: 616467 Location: Richmond VIC, Surry Hills NSW, Perth WA, Geelong VicHours: Full-TimeContract length: 12 Month ContractEntry requirements: Australian CitizenshipPay rate: $60.26 p/h ex super About the Role The APS 6 Strategic Communications Officer is a team leadership position that will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across a range of activities.The role is required to provide leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the team membership within the work area.The position is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems.Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support our Australian Government client's business objectives.The APS 6 Strategic Communications Officer will have a considerable level of public contact in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues.It is required to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the Australian Government clients.Responsibilities of the Role include but are not limited to: Champion plain English and ensure all collateral is accessible and aligns with the the client's style and branding guidelines.Lead through example, serving as a trusted communications expert, helping key internal stakeholders and business partners deliver the objectives of each project.Contribute towards the development and delivery of different communications plans, progressing approvals and coordination of go-live collateral.Identify and develop important internal stakeholder relationships, addressing and resolving any emerging challenges with stakeholders.Evaluate the impact of communications, identifying any future learnings and determining whether the identified objectives for each project have been achieved.Support team members with administration, technical and procedural tasks.Key skills and experience required for the Role include: Ability to copy write in plain English.Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.Stakeholder management expertise.Desirable skills and experience for the Role include: Knowledge of accessible communications principles.Benefits: A healthy, safe, and diverse work environment.Continuous employee support.Opportunities for career development.
