Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) Full time AUSTRAC is the Australian Government's financial intelligence unit and anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regulator. Every day our people use their intellect, skills, initiative and the latest technologies to protect our country, economy and community.About the role The Specialist, Rules Reform, is a key member of the Rules Reform Unit of the Rules, Exemptions and MOUs team (REM). REM sits within the Reform Policy and Mutual Evaluation Branch of AUSTRAC. The role will contribute to the development of AML/CTF Rules as part of broader reforms to Australia's AML/CTF framework. The Specialist will conduct research and analysis to inform Rules development and support the development of drafting instructions and explanatory material. They will also consult with internal stakeholders and support engagement with external stakeholders on proposed reforms to the Rules. The key duties of the position include:Undertaking research and analysis including on complex matters;Supporting the development of drafting instructions and drafting explanatory material for reforms to the AML/CTF Rules;Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships within AUSTRAC and with relevant external stakeholders in government and industry;Preparing written briefing and submissions;Progressing AML/CTF exemptions and modifications and MOU negotiations, as capacity allows.More information and How to applyWith a supportive culture and benefits offering work/life balance, we offer a challenging and rewarding career where you can make a real impact.
