Aps 5 & Aps 6 Legal Project Officers

The Legal and Audit Division is a specialist in-house practice that supports lawful implementation of the Department's objectives by advising on the management of legal risk as well as providing legal advice, litigation and dispute resolution services, legal training and legislation services.
We are looking for candidates with relevant experience, flexible thinking and a consistent and reliable work ethic.
You need to have strong project management, administration, liaison and communications skills and the ability to manage conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
Experience in legal practice is also highly regarded.
The Practice Management section reports directly to the joint Chief Counsels and is the operational backbone of the division.
The team is responsible for supporting the efficient and effective delivery of in-house legal services through establishing and maintaining a robust governance framework, supporting effective management of human resources and workforce planning, procurement, financial services and reporting as well as building systems, processes and resources to enable legal practice management.

EligibilityThis recruitment process is being used to fill ongoing and/or non-ongoing position/s.

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months.
A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
