Position Overview: As an Accountant at Star Value, you will be responsible for managing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting decision-making through precise reporting. Reliability is essential in this role, as we depend on accurate financial management to maintain our business's integrity and support our growth.
Key Responsibilities: • Monitor supply levels across physical and online shops, reordering as necessary.
• Tag and track fixed assets.
• Process supplier invoices promptly and ensure optimal use of discounts.
• Manage debt obligations, monitor debt levels, and ensure compliance with debt covenants.
• Collect and remit sales taxes.
• Record cash receipts and make bank deposits.
• Conduct monthly and periodic reconciliations of bank and other accounts.
• Provide necessary information for external accountants and assist in the creation of financial statements.
• Calculate and analyze financial statements to aid in business decision-making.
• Maintain an orderly filing system and a structured chart of accounts.
• Oversee the annual budget, track variances, and report key findings to management.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
• Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to management when required.
Qualifications: • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in an accounting role.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to accuracy.
• Ability to read Mandarin (preferred), as some stock invoices are in Mandarin.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
