At Insignia Financial, your voice, ideas and individuality countsLocation Hobart, Melbourne or Sydney with hybrid working arrangementsPermanent Full-time roleThe opportunity to join our team As an Accountant – Financial Control you will be responsible for the preparation and reporting of accounting and financial data for allocated businesses within the Insignia Financial Limited (IFL) Group and supporting the Finance team objectives.
You will provide a clear and accurate picture of the financial performance of the assigned business entities.
Key Responsibilities: Month end reporting within communicated deadlinesSupport compilation and completion of regulatory returns and statutory financial statementsMaintains and is responsible for accounting operations including cash controlPrepare accurate end of month financial reports, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations by the given deadlinesProvide insights to Finance Business Partner teams and prepare monthly P&L variance analysis on the monthly operating performance of the legal entities to ensure the accuracy of the financial information.
This analysis is prepared using current results, prior period results and budgetsPreparation of monthly tax calculations including movements in deferred taxes as required under AASB 112Identification, development and implementation of improvements or new processes within the teamProvide advice to management on financial accounting issues and developments and undertake special investigations and analysis projects into financial accounting matters as directedWhat you will bring Degree or Qualification in Accounting, CA/CPA or progressing towardsExperience with workday preferredSound knowledge of computer based financial systems and PC based applications especially Microsoft Excel and WordIdeally some understanding of the financial services industrySound appreciation and understanding of prevailing mandatory accounting standards and regulations and a basic understanding of Australian taxation issues.
Incumbent is expected to be proactive in maintaining an up to date working professional's knowledge base in this regardAttention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving skillsBusiness acumen with an ability to meet deadlinesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsTo Apply Applicants will be required to provide evidence of their eligibility to work in Australia, and at a minimum be required to undertake police and basic credit checks as a condition of employment.
