The Student Child and Family Connect team are dedicated to maximising learning days for young people with complex vulnerabilities who require multi-agency support to engage with continuous learning.Your Role:As the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Officer (Identified) with Student Child and Family Connect and Project Next, you will work with at-risk young people internal and external partners, and be able to contribute to the development of a case plan that focuses on addressing a young person's individual risks and needs in relation to education engagement and attainment.About You:The team are looking for someone who:Has strong family, community and stakeholder engagement skills;Can achieve results in accessing information, resources and services to support school engagement, ensuring students stay on track for success;Has demonstrated experience in case management of vulnerable and at-risk young people, particularly those who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.This is a fixed term temporary position until 29 June 2025, unless otherwise determined.12.5% superannuation, flexible work arrangements, employee assistance program.Mandatory Requirements for and Identified Role:? It is a genuine occupational requirement for Identified roles that the position be filled by an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person as set out in Section 7 of the?Anti Discrimination?Act 1991?for the purposes contained in Section 25 of that Act. Verification of Aboriginality and/or Torres Strait Island heritage? For administrative purposes, in relation to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified role, an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a person who identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and is either: accepted as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community in which he or she lives. By definition a person who is not an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cannot be employed (on any basis) to perform the duties of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified role.
