You will complete a Certificate III Electrotechnology - Electrician qualification over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures and our host employer, Origin Energy (Eraring).
These positions will commence in January 2025. Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:
Configure circuits, control systems, and safety measures for various electrical installations. Conduct maintenance and testing of equipment and machinery. Fabricate, assemble, and disassemble utility industry components. Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems within the electricity production sector. Diagnose faults in equipment, both in workshop and on-site settings. Work on various equipment, including but not limited to switchgear, control circuits, motors, transformers, HV transmission systems, generators, PLCs and other controllers, LV & HV switchboards, and instrumentation. Carry out other duties that are within the limits of apprentice skills, competence, and ability as required. As part of your training, you will attend a six-month Work Readiness program at Zeal Futures learning, where you will gain skills in Electrical, Mechanical, and Fabrication trades while developing safety awareness and work ethics.

Ability to work as part of a team. Commitment to both practical and theoretical training. Eager to participate and learn new skills. Demonstrated interest and passion for the Electrical trade. Mandatory Requirements Current driver's licence (or close to obtaining by apprenticeship start date in January 2025). WHS White card (or willingness to obtain). Police Check (or willingness to obtain prior to employment). Willingness to obtain pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening, functional capacity assessment, and Hepatitis A & B immunisations.
