002 Field Officer

Field Officer required for an immediate start for the Red Witch weed project in Habana / Farleigh Your new company We are currently recruiting for a government organisation that specialise in the agriculture, fisheries and forestry industries in Queensland. Due to some recent movements within the organisation, an opportunity for a Field Officer has now become available. Your new role In this role you will find yourself carrying out duties including, but not limited to; Surveillance, mapping and treatment activities for the eradication of the red witchweed Communicate effectively with landholders, program managers and staff Collect data and record information for the project. Operate and maintain a variety of field equipment Safely use agricultural chemicals What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will require the following; Strong work ethic and willingness to work in the sun and heat while walking 10kms per day Experience in outdoor labouring, weed control and/or agricultural field work Open Driver's Licence Highly regarded but not essential, a Manual Licence Must be physically fit to work in an exposed tropical weather environment Ability to use GPS and other navigation equipment What you'll get in return This organisation is offering an immediate start to the successful candidate. You will be offered a full-time roster working 36- 38 hours per week. You will start daily from 6am Monday to Friday, duties will be performed in paddocks located in Habana / Farleigh Qld.
