Who You Are:
Our team is seeking a talented thumbnail strategist for Spawnpoint Media, who can write and strategize thumbnail designs across our span of channels, including Roblox, Minecraft, Reaction, and more. You should have a deep understanding of what makes a thumbnail clickable to different audiences, as well as keeping up to date with the latest trends in thumbnails and children's pop-culture.
Your Responsibilities and Skills:
Thumbnail Brief Crafting: Craft detailed thumbnail briefs for designers to follow, ensuring alignment with content and message.
YouTube Metrics Analysis: Analyze key YouTube metrics and analytics to gauge content effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Competitor and Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on competitor and successful thumbnails to remain informed on current trends.
Effective Communication with Designers: Communicate effectively with thumbnail designers, providing feedback and collaboration via Monday.com and Discord.
Design Software Proficiency: Utilize Photoshop for touch-ups and final adjustments to thumbnail designs.
Trends Integration: Incorporate current children's trends into thumbnails to maintain relevance and engagement.
Collaboration with Writing Department: Collaborate with the writing department to ensure synergy between thumbnails and video content.
Feedback Provision: Provide feedback to ensure thumbnails accurately represent video content and capture viewers' attention.
Industry Trend Monitoring: Monitor industry trends to integrate innovative approaches into thumbnail designs.
Brainstorming Participation: Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate fresh ideas for thumbnail design.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with branding strategies.
Children Specific Content: Stay informed about developments in children's entertainment to resonate with the target audience.
Requirements:
Possess 1-2+ years of experience in creating thumbnails and using Photoshop.
Demonstrate understanding of visual design principles for thumbnails, including composition and color theory.
Provide a portfolio or previous experience showcasing proficiency in various thumbnail styles.
Exhibit strong communication skills and accountability when collaborating with team members.
Have the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changes when necessary.
Capable of understanding and implementing feedback to enhance thumbnail quality.
Flexible in adjusting to changes in deadlines and creating emergency thumbnails.
Continuously strive to improve skills and the quality of work.
Have experience and understanding in YouTube Analytics and key metrics (AVD, CTR, Impressions, etc.).
Possess good English and writing skills.
Understand what makes clickable thumbnails and apply that knowledge effectively.
Exhibit great communication skills and remain active within the team.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Minecraft, social media, and pop-culture trends.
Preferable Additional Skills:
Experience with your own YouTube channel.
Worked with large creators for thumbnails in the YouTube industry previously.
Experience in other Minecraft/YouTube industry-specific roles (Builder, Editor, Animator, Actor, etc).
