We offer a supportive and positive work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.Mentis is seeking people with great personalities & attitudes who thrive in a team environment.The Role:To oversee the efficient workflow and ensure the safe progression of jobs between workshop teams, from pre-fabrication, fabrication and welding, up until the point of dispatch, while adhering to business procedures and policies.Duties:Work with the Operations Manager on daily job delivery through the fabrication workshop.Direct and supervise workers in the work group to perform the required daily tasks to achieve job targets.Carry out day to day management of workshop staff and processes for their work group.Proactively address Safety Culture in line with the company guidelines and strategy.Conduct daily DBR Board group meetings to ensure jobs are on track and actioned.Ensuring compliance to company policies and procedures from all the work group.Immediately raise any safety or disciplinary issues within the company guidelines.Plan and co-ordinate delivery of full material kits to fabricators ensuring all items are accounted for including drawings, materials, equipment and any other associated requirements of the job.Ensure jobs are completed within the target hours set by the production job card and actual hours are recorded.Ensure material tracking is maintained for each job and recorded as required without error.Run and participate in toolbox meetings as required for the workshop and/or your work group.Inspect all completed jobs for accuracy and quality including traceability requirements.Monitor work group areas for safety, maintenance, equipment and material availability and immediately report any issues to the Optimisation Supervisor.Participate and assist in stocktake and any other periodical business requirements.About you:To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:Great Personality & Attitude.Able to provide leadership of a blue collar team.Awesome team player.Steel fabrication and welding experience.Organised.Ability to read and interpret commercial contracts, technical documents and drawings.Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Proactive and resourceful approach to solving problems.Ability to manage relationships and expectations on various levels.High focus on meeting deadlines.The ability and maturity to perform in a dynamic and fast paced environment.The following are also desirable but not essential:Boilermakers trade certificate.You will also be required to:Comply with all HSEQ policies, processes and procedures.To always be punctual and present professionally to work.Support in development and implementation of company procedures and processes.Responsibility of their own health and safety at work.Wearing and using of personal protective clothing/equipment as required.Maintaining focus on the throughput of fabricated material using the Drum Buffer Rope (DBR) method.Experience and competence for the company's processes and conformity requirements applicable to specified area.Participation and responsibilities in Management Review Meetings and Toolbox Meetings (where applicable).Attend training and participate in Operations/Sales Meetings, Company strategy workshops and the like (as required).Reporting and involvement in investigations of incidents, near miss and hazard prevention as required.Maintaining a focus on Quality Management of product, fabrication and all required processes.
