Role Overview: Shadbolt Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Supervisor to join our team at our Burton, South Australia facility.
As we continue to expand, we are looking for an individual who has a strong background in overseeing complex fabrication processes and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and team performance.
In this role, you will be responsible for supervising a team of tradespeople, apprentices, trade assistants, and contractors in a busy workshop environment.
You will ensure the safe and efficient delivery of production tasks while ensuring that work is completed to the highest quality standards in line with customer specifications.
As part of your role, you will also be responsible for the training and development of your team, including fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities: Safely lead and supervise a team of tradespeople, apprentices, trade assistants, and contractors on daily production tasks.Plan and coordinate work activities, including managing and allocating project resources to ensure agreed time, cost, quality, safety, and environmental targets are met.Experience fabricating and welding stainless steels, duplex, super duplex, alloy nickels, titanium, copper nickel & aluminium.Providing regular quality inspections to ensure production is being delivered to the relevant customer standards.Provide advice, direction, and regular feedback on workshop performance to motivate a team of tradespersons and apprentices in the delivery of production work orders.Conduct on-the-job training as required.Assist with solving complex problems.Be responsible for the training and development of apprentices and junior tradespeople.Facilitate the efficient delivery of works through communication and coordination with internal workshop stakeholders.In collaboration with the workshop manager, provide recommendations on resource levels and productivity initiatives that support improved workshop efficiencies.Be responsible for daily pre-starts and close-out meetings, reporting on issues and ideas for improvement.Responsible for WHSE of the team, including ensuring VOCs, Take 5s, SWMS, and any specific training has been completed and is current.Ensure trade workers are booked to the correct work orders each day and that progress is accurately reported.Deliver scopes of work as defined within work orders within the budgeted hours and agreed scheduled dates, to the relevant quality standards.Manage sub-contractors who are supporting work within the workshop.Adhere to current company policies and procedures.Other duties as required for the role.Qualifications: Trade qualification Cert 3 fabrication with 10+ years' experience as a Fabrication Supervisor.Forklift licence – Preferable.Demonstrated ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and workshop manuals.Demonstrated ability to implement and monitor WHS, quality, and environment requirements in relation to workshop operations and to facilitate training.Possess a current motor vehicle driver licence.Why Join Us?
