They pride themselves on delivering innovative and reliable products to their clients and are seeking a skilled Workshop Manager to lead and develop their workshop team.Role Overview:We are looking for a proactive and experienced Workshop Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in welding or mechanical fitting and bring strong leadership capabilities to the role. The successful individual will play a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the workshop, managing staff, ensuring quality standards are maintained, and promoting a safe working environment.Key Responsibilities:Oversee all workshop operations, including welding, mechanical fitting, and assembly processes, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met.Lead and motivate a team of skilled technicians and fitters, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.Ensure all workshop activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.Monitor and maintain workshop equipment, ensuring all machinery is in safe and effective working order.Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to staff to resolve complex issues.Implement and uphold quality control measures, ensuring products meet or exceed client specifications and industry standards.Work closely with the production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to ensure seamless workflow and delivery of projects.Maintain accurate records of work activities, production schedules, and stock levels.Foster continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and reduce waste in the workshop processes.Essential Skills & Experience:Proven experience in a welding or mechanical fitting environment, with a strong understanding of the technical aspects of both disciplines.Ideally, welding inspection qualifications (e.g., CSWIP, AWS, or equivalent) or substantial experience in welding inspection.Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with a track record of successfully leading workshop teams.Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to managing issues.In-depth knowledge of workshop equipment, tools, and machinery, as well as health and safety procedures.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and clients.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.A commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for driving operational efficiency.Desirable Qualifications:Formal qualifications in welding, mechanical fitting, or a related field.Experience with ERP or workshop management software.Additional welding or inspection certifications will be considered an advantage.Why Join Us?The client has a fantastic reputation and supportive work environment where your expertise will be valued, and your contribution will help drive the success of the business.
