We are seeking a full-time experienced Wood Machinist to join our friendly production team, located at our factory in St Marys, New South Wales. This role is predominantly factory based, working with a team of timber professionals, producing a varied range of architectural joinery components.
The company has recently purchased a new CNC and moved to new premises. We are transforming our business and creating exciting career paths for those who want to learn different skills. We are a family owned company with over 21 years of experience and success - we are seeking long term team members who want to grow with us. You will be working with a great team of experienced and passionate joiners.
Work hours are 6.00am to 2.30pm daily and 6.00 to 12.00pm on Fridays.
Purpose of the role:
The purpose of this role is to work with the team to produce timber windows and doors as per job cards. You must be experienced across a number of timber woodworking machines and have a keen eye for detail. This includes completion of the following tasks:
Adhere to the company’s safety standards and policies
Read, learn, understand and interpret paperwork and work instructions, and other instructions written or verbal according to established guidelines and quality standards.
·You agree to follow all policies and processes as requested by your manager. This includes following instruction in using various software, tracking and reporting tools in a consistent manner
Skillsets Required:
Entering and following instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Maintain continuity among team by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Key duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Daily operation of spindle moulder, thicknesser, joiner, wide belt sander, drop saw, panel saw, various hand tools
Maintenance of wood working Machinery (ie. Rectifying faults and performing troubleshooting as required)
Assembly of joinery components
Ability to move within roles – cutting, beading, sanding, hanging etc…
To be considered for this role, you will need the following skills and attributes:
Timber machining know-how (grain direction specs etc)
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Outstanding verbal communication skills
Precise and accurate written and numerical skills
Experience Required:
General experience within joinery industry
Previous experience with various wood machines
Working knowledge of a range of timber and composite manufacturing processes and material
