Overview:
Full-time, Fixed Term until 31 December 2026 Salary HEW 7 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, however, some project delivery will take place in the North-East of Melbourne and at other Victorian school locations. About You This role is a pivotal opportunity to coordinate a transformative industry partnership dedicated to enhancing diversity in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The coordinator will unite industry experts, student audiences, and educators in a collaborative effort. Responsibilities include building relationships with industry partners, guiding casual staff, and designing impactful outreach programs for schools and communities. This position also emphasises diverse stakeholder management, supports current RMIT student initiatives, and fosters project evaluation.
The multi-year project aspires to inspire the next generation of Melbourne-based individuals, particularly women and non-binary students, to envision their futures in rewarding STEM careers, including trades and construction. Reporting directly to the Manager of Women in STEM, the coordinator will work collaboratively with other team members to champion equitable access to education and opportunities, including through vital vocational education pathways.
While the Women in STEM Coordinator may occasionally work outside standard hours, this commitment to change brings immense potential for growth and innovation within our community.
To be successful in this position, you'll have: Demonstrated communication, relationship building and negotiation skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines in a demanding high-volume environment with excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
Experience in managing projects from initiation to completion to meet objectives, including planning, resource allocation, negotiation, conducting post-project evaluations and reporting.
High level of computer literacy – MS-Office software packages, email, internet and correspondence management databases with the ability to learn new technical skills.
Demonstrated high level of organisation skills and the ability to manage time effectively, prioritise multiple tasks and meet conflicting deadlines.
Experience working with schools, in education and/or STEM outreach is desirable.
An understanding of and/or interest in increasing diverse participation in STEM is desirable.
Qualifications Relevant degree and/or relevant experience.
Hold a valid Australian drivers licence (P2 minimum).
