About the role: Reporting to the WHSE Manager VIC / SA / NT, this role will be responsible for leading the WHSE function across all business units in New Zealand.
You will play a significant part and have a strong appetite for driving a high-performance culture that optimizes operational efficiency and sustainability.
This hands-on role will provide practical WHSE advice and support to our people while continually driving WHSE in a positive direction through the implementation of robust management plans.
You will integrate into a team that fosters teamwork and collaboration while working for a leader that values growth and development.
Travel will be required across our 7 sites in New Zealand. Managing the day-to-day WHSE Management SystemsDevelop and implement the safety and environment strategy for the business in line with CSR objectivesIdentify trends and develop strategies and training to address theseFacilitate effective communications across the business via huddles, toolbox meetings, and leadership meetingsEnsuring standards are effectively communicated to stakeholdersReview legislative changes and make appropriate recommendations and changes to support implementationOversee and manage Return to Work (RTW) programs, ensuring effective reintegration of employees following injury or illnessManage risk register for business including appropriate actions for mitigation and reductionLead the Risk Reduction Planning process for the business, specific to each siteCoaching managers on risk assessments and JSAsChampion hazard identification and implementing appropriate controls with managersManage Industrial Hygiene and dangerous goods processesConduct audits and prepare reports as requiredParticipate in project meetings to drive acceptable WHSE outcomesFacilitate incidents management, traffic management, and emergency response processesAbout You: Previous experience within a similar role managing multiple sites and RTW requirementsStrong written and verbal communication skills across all levelsPositive thinker who wants to work together for solutions rather than focusing on the problemDemonstrated background in the achievement of Health Safety and Environment objectives, ideally within a similar environment (Manufacturing, Construction, or Heavy Industries with a higher safety risk background)Proven leadership capabilities with well-developed team leadership skillsAble to engage and influence multiple stakeholders at all levelsAble to interpret standards and help others through continuous improvementDemonstrated ability to inform strategy, deliver systems, and work to standardsQualifications in WHSE and certification for Training and Assessment, WHS Auditing, and Return-to-Work CoordinationProven working knowledge of WHSE systems and auditing experienceFamiliarity with WHS legislationWhat's on offer: Competitive remuneration package and access to Kiwi Saver and Southern Cross health benefitsFlexible working arrangementsRewarding career with on-the-job development opportunities within and across the CSR businessCulture: At CSR, we are committed to creating a supportive and engaging environment that recognizes and rewards its people, enabling them to grow their career and truly thrive.
