Occupational Health & Safety (Human Resources & Recruitment)Full timeThe primary purpose of the position is to manage the work, health, and safety requirements of HCF, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations. This includes ensuring employees are aware of their obligations under relevant policies, audits, and statutes (i.e., OHS Act). You will develop, in collaboration with the Head of EX and relevant stakeholders, the WHS strategy and framework, and ensure its delivery and monitoring.In this role, you will partner with the Head of P&C BP and engage with the Health and Wellbeing team to develop the WHS strategy and the HCF Group WHS Management System and Framework. You will implement, deliver, and monitor all key WHS activities and functions across the group, including managing the WHS Committee, RTO Committee, and other relevant WHS-related committees. Monitoring changes in legislation and regulations, you will provide information and advice to management on their impact on organizational policies and procedures. Evaluating the effectiveness of risk and safety programs, you will identify risks and recommend improvements to enhance current and future initiatives. Keeping management updated on legislative knowledge for organisational due diligence, including support with Workers Compensation, will be crucial. You will develop, implement, and maintain WHS policies and procedures to promote a safe working environment across the group. Additionally, you will develop and deliver monitoring and reporting on performance metrics to inform senior management on risk and safety trends. Developing and implementing strategies and policies to eliminate or mitigate risks across the group, you will also create WHS competency strategies for employees, adapting to changing priorities. Fostering a holistic safety culture aligned with HCF Strategy and values, you will build healthy work relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendor management and regulatory bodies. Implementing and delivering safety equipment procedures and procurement across the group will also be part of your responsibilities.Required Skills and ExperienceExtensive knowledge of relevant WHS legislation and standards, including AS 4801:2001 WHS implementation and SafeWork - Health & Safety Codes of Practice.Experience in continuous improvement of WHS management systems and contributing to a culture of health and wellbeing.Sound working knowledge of Workers Compensation claim management, including RTW and development of preventative strategies with relevant stakeholders.Ability to identify WHS risks, engage with stakeholders, and implement solutions.Demonstrated experience with audits and external reviews, successfully completing audit reviews and remediation.WHS experience in high-risk and operational environments, meeting compliance requirements.Ability to analyse, review, and improve/mitigate WHS risk assessments and relevant operational processes.Strong communication skills with the ability to persuade and guide others constructively.Experience in improving business processes and delivering planned activities.Excellent written and oral communication skills, including committee report writing.Knowledge of WHS management systems and their application to business and culture.Tertiary qualification in WHS (or equivalent) and/or related field.Experience working in a clinical services environment.PROSCI Change Management certification.
