The City of Brentwood is seeking a journey level individual for maintenance, repair, operation and inspection in connection with operating and maintaining water production facilities and equipment. The Ideal Candidate for the current vacancy is someone who understands the aspects of groundwater production, including maintenance and repair of water production facilities, water quality sampling, has a heightened awareness of public health concerns, and is familiar with the Division of Drinking Water Regulations.

Education and Experience Guidelines Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Education/Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.Experience: Two years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a water production system comparable to a Water Production Worker I with the City of Brentwood.License or Certificate: Possession of California Driver's License must be maintained as a continued condition of employment.Possession of a Grade II Water Distribution certificate issued by the State of California Water Resources Control Board must be maintained as a continued condition of employment.Applicants must submit the following:

The examination process will consist of:
Review of applications for minimum qualifications for the position and to ensure all materials have been submitted.Written Exam and/or External Panel Interview - Applicants possessing these requirements will be invited to take the written test and/or participate in an external panel interview.
The examination will cover elements of the knowledge and abilities identified in the job description.All applicants that pass the written test will be placed on the eligible list which is good for at least 6 months and may be extended up to an additional 18 months.
This eligible list will be used by the City of Brentwood to fill all current and future openings in this classification as long as the list is active.
