headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples' wellbeing. This covers four core areas: mental health, physical health, work and study support, and alcohol and other drug services. The Individual Placement and Support Program (IPS) provides vocational assistance to young people with mental illness up to the age of 25, who are at risk of long-term welfare dependency because they disengage from employment and/or education. The program uses the IPS model to improve the employment and education outcomes for these young people. About the role The Vocational Specialist will deliver IPS employment supports to young people in partnership with a multidisciplinary team at headspace Port Lincoln. Work in conjunction with headspace staff to support young people to gain employment or to engage in education. Liaise with local employers, education providers, and health professionals to ensure ease of access and smooth transition across a range of employment and educational opportunities for young people. The overall aims of vocational support for young people is to minimise the impact of their mental health issue and to enable recovery through meaningful employment or education. About you Knowledge and expertise in the employment sector, combined with understanding, skills, and interest in the youth mental health field. Have qualifications in Vocational Services / Employment Services / Career Development / Education / Youth Work OR relevant transferable experience.
