About the role The Vice President of External Affairs is a senior executive position that reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing Arrow Energy's external relations strategy. This role is responsible for leading several key business functions (circa 80 staff), including government relations, indigenous affairs, external stakeholder engagement, communications, land access, and State and Federal regulatory approvals. The Vice President will work closely with regulatory authorities and industry bodies to ensure Arrow's compliance with legislative frameworks while also championing the company's sustainability and social responsibility initiatives. Key responsibilities include: Leading the development and implementation of strategies that ensure Arrow Energy's competitive positioning and respected reputation as a gas developer. Overseeing stakeholder relationships at the highest levels, including negotiations with Federal and State governments to secure essential regulatory approvals and maintain the company's project timelines. Driving initiatives that foster positive relationships with indigenous communities and regional stakeholders, ensuring that Arrow Energy's operations align with cultural heritage and native title agreements. Developing and managing sustainability strategies that encompass environmental and social governance issues, ensuring responsible and ethical execution of key projects such as the Surat Gas Project. About the person The ideal candidate for the Vice President of External Affairs will be an experienced executive with a deep understanding of the energy or resources sector, particularly in the context of Federal and Queensland regulatory frameworks. You will have more than 20 years of experience, including executive-level leadership in managing complex stakeholder relationships, strategic issues, and regulatory approvals. Key qualifications and skills will include: A university degree or professional qualification relevant to the role. Extensive experience in navigating Federal and State regulatory environments, particularly in areas such as tenure, land access, cultural heritage, and environmental compliance. Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement. Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to align external relations strategies with Arrow Energy's broader business objectives.
