Join the Team Baker Hughes has a new opportunity to join as the Upstream Chemicals Technical Manager – SEA within our Oilfield & Industrial Chemicals division.
Partner with the best As a Upstream Chemicals Technical Manager - SEA, you'll be  responsible for all resources, and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property.
As an Upstream Chemicals Technical Manager - SEA, you will be responsible to: Collaborating with the internal and external customers to establish fit for purpose production chemistry solutions Working alongside the Service Delivery Coordinator and Regional Technical manager ensuring we are aligned on the same goals Utilising fully our regional Technical Service Request (TSR) system to drive technical solutions to completion in a timely, efficient manner Working as part of a team to troubleshoot challenging customer production chemistry issues Providing technical support to upstream chemicals supply and service tenders Raising project requests via the Clarity system for testing that is to be conducted outside the region and ensures the requests proceed in an efficient manner towards completion Drafting Cost – Time – Resource (CTR) where required for testing to be conducted in our regional laboratories Drafting work instructions where testing needs to be conducted in our regional laboratories Working alongside our regional laboratory technicians and chemists to complete TSRs, following up and ensuring the testing is completed in a timely manner Analysing data and clearly communicate the results through written technical reports and/or presentations to internal and external customers Drafting, reviewing procedures as required to improve our technical service delivery Reviewing local team technical reports and mentor improve their technical writing skills Travelling to customer offices where required for face-to-face meetings and discuss the solutions are we or can provide to them Travellling offshore to customer locations as required when the situation needs a highly experienced individual present Mentoring Baker Hughes employees where required to improve their upstream chemicals knowledge, either remotely or in person with hands-on training Identifying gaps within our service technical service delivery in the region and make steps to improve and overcome these gaps Fuel your passion To be successful in this role you will: Have a Bachelor's in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related science discipline that includes chemistry or materials science units Have a minimum of 10 years of oilfield upstream chemicals / production chemistry experience Have experience in numerous oilfield treating chemical applications; including but not limited to, demulsification, water clarification, corrosion inhibition, wax inhibition, scale inhibition, naphthenate control, gas hydrate control, foam control, biocide application, hydrogen sulphide scavenging Be willing to travel to other countries as required including to the oilfield for customer engagement, mentorship, training, or other business needs Demonstrated competency of Microsoft Office software products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc Demonstrate excellent communication skills with fluency in written and verbal English Have strong desire to resolve production chemistry challenges Be a process driven individual who understands the business in order to prioritise and manage workload to meet reasonable deadlines Working with us Our people are at the heart of what we do at Baker Hughes.
