PM Shift Transport Supervisor Warnervale Newcastle NSW Global Logistics provides sophisticated supply chain solutions, from end-to-end or part solutions, warehousing and distribution to dedicated transport solutions, across the globe and to some of the most remote corners of the world.
The Opportunity We're hiring a Transport Supervisor to join our team at Warnervale Newcastle, NSW, as we expand our Grocery division. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in facilitating grocery deliveries, ensuring that Toll drivers and operations staff surpass standards and KPIs.
This role offers a flexible 7-day fortnight roster, working a PM Shift - 3:00pm - 3:00am.
Week 1: Sunday to Tuesday
Week 2: Saturday to Tuesday
The Transport Supervisor will ensure that tasks are completed in the most efficient manner with agreed standards in operational procedures including strong emphasis on safety requirements, regularly communicating with drivers and stakeholders, compliance and managing staff to ensure business objectives are achieved in a safe and cost-effective way.
A day in the life of a Transport Supervisor at Toll Group : Plan and manage labour resources to meet the day-to-day service level targets, and exceed customer expectations. Coordinate the dispatch of trucks, drivers, and shipments to ensure on-time deliveries and pickups. Champion safety and ensure all drivers and operational staff follow OHS and site safety requirements. Promote a customer-first mindset and ensure the daily operation is maximising profitability by linking management goals with practical means of achievement. Maintain clear and effective communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams. Address any issues or delays promptly to minimise disruptions. Ensure services are monitored for on-time delivery, and proactively collaborate with the customer to meet targeted delivery windows. What You'll Need to Succeed : Previous experience within a similar role within Transport / Logistics industry. A positive attitude and appetite to learn. Demonstrated experience with Operations, CoR, Fatigue Management desirable but not essential. An analytical mind-set and strong ability to problem solve. Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal. Computer literacy skills in MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook. The position of Transport Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of safety, performance, and leadership for a team of allocators and company drivers. Lead investigations into all significant transport-related safety/environmental incidents and develop suitable corrective actions addressing root causes.
