Permanent Part Time – 40 hours per fortnight Casual opportunities also available Health & Allied Services - IN17 Cook Grade 3, $33.27 per hour excluding allowances & casual loading Opportunities exist for qualified trade cooks to join our food production team within our kitchen. Under the guidance of the Head Chef, this position is responsible for the preparation of meals for patients and residents, in accordance with standard recipes and production schedules. Our ideal candidate(s) will have strong communication skills, the ability to read, understand and follow standard recipes, production lists and schedules, diet guidelines and safety instructions and have a strong history of being able to work as an effective team member.
The successful applicant will be required to work 8 hour shifts starting as early as 6.00am and finishing as late as 5.30pm. The current availability is 40 hours per fortnight, with shifts spread over a 4-week rotation roster as below:
We also have casual opportunities available for the successful candidate to cover various types of leave across Monday to Sunday 6:30am – 4:00pm. Required skills and experience include: Mandatory: Safe Food Handlers Certificate – HLTTFS7A or equivalent. Extensive previous experience in a high volume kitchen Previous experience with the cook chill food production system Experience and proficiency in computer usage IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare sector are required to be fully vaccinated (3 doses) for COVID-19 and influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
