Are you a motivated and hands-on professional looking to make a difference in the public transport industry?
Transit Systems is on the hunt for an enthusiastic Trade Assistant to join our dynamic Leichhardt maintenance team!
About the Role As a Trade Assistant , you'll play a crucial role in supporting the maintenance of our bus fleet.
Your responsibilities will include: Assisting trade staff with minor repairs to keep buses road-ready.
Conducting kilometre-based inspections (tyres, lights, fluids, body damage).
Maintaining a clean and efficient workshop environment.
Delivering and retrieving parts from suppliers and depots.
Using a forklift and conducting road tests.
Potential for overtime as a bus operator if you hold a Driver Authority.
What We're Looking For: Familiarity with workshop best practices and standard concepts.
Strong communication and time management skills.
A valid driver's licence (MR or higher preferred) and willingness to obtain a HR licence.
A mechanical background (desirable but not essential).
Physical fitness to manage workshop duties.
A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to professionalism.
