Our evidence-based approach incorporates the latest theoretical frameworks such as the neurobiology of trauma, attachment and relational theories, and child development, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and intervention.Operating in Victoria, Tasmania, ACT, South Australia, Western Australia, New South Wales, and the Northern Territory, we collaborate with out-of-home care providers to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.Our work extends across various partnerships, including an established collaboration with Brophy Family and Youth Services in the South-West region of Victoria, where our Therapeutic Specialist position is based.About the Role:As a Therapeutic Specialist, your pivotal role involves a consultative focus, collaborating with Brophy staff across various program areas.
A significant focus of the role will be working alongside the Brophy Residential and Foster Care Teams, you will provide mentoring, consultation and training while delivering therapeutic support and counselling to children and young people in various care settings.Your responsibilities extend to implementing trauma-informed approaches, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, and actively contributing to program development and evaluation.
Additionally, you'll support effective team dynamics, and fulfill administrative requirements, including writing comprehensive therapeutic assessments and plans, and maintain thorough case file documentation.This role emphasises a commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of children, incorporating ongoing research, advocacy, and the delivery of specialised training in child abuse and trauma.To succeed in this role - Key Selection Criteria:Appropriate qualification in Psychology, Social Work, OT, or a related discipline.Experience in the area of harmful sexual behaviours of children and young people.Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and direct service in the clinical assessment and treatment of children, young people, and families.Ability to provide secondary consultation and advice to clinicians and other professionals.Demonstrated capacity to deliver trauma-informed, therapeutic counselling modalities that meet the diverse needs of children and young people.Capacity to lead and manage in an area of challenging and complex practice.Knowledge of trauma, attachment, and neurobiology frameworks and theories.Experience in child abuse and/or working with traumatised children.Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively and the capacity to negotiate and liaise with DFFH, Out of Home Care providers, education, other agencies, and the community.An understanding of the complexity of the service system and the issues involved in providing services to statutory clients.A current Victorian driver's license or equivalent.Competitive Compensation: Enjoy a salary that reflects your experience and qualifications.Company-Provided Vehicle: Navigate your responsibilities with a company vehicle.Salary Packaging: Personalise how you receive your rewards to suit your financial goals.Employee Assistance Program: Access a wide range of support services to enhance your well-being.Individual and Group Supervision: Benefit from regular sessions providing clinical guidance and support.Collaborative Connections: Join forces with our Australian-wide ACF Therapeutic Services Teams, a network of professionals committed to making a difference.Access to an Extensive Resources Library: Dive into a wealth of knowledge and insights from leading experts in the field, continually enhancing your impact.How to apply:To apply, please upload your resume and cover letter addressing the key selection criteria and include Reference number VN324.For inquiries about the role or to request a copy of the position description, please contact HR at ******.
