Job DescriptionThe primary objective of the Test Analyst role is to develop and implement test activities at a project level. This includes identifying the amount of effort, the levels and types of testing to be executed, test case creation and execution as well as contributing to the project test delivery in line with the Test Strategy and Plan.
The Test Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products by managing the end-to-end testing lifecycle. This role involves defining the scope of testing for each release based on requirements, developing test strategies, and preparing test plans and estimates. The Test Analyst is responsible for creating detailed test cases, executing manual tests across multiple test phases, and documenting results. They play a pivotal role in defect identification, triaging, and management to ensure accurate categorization and resolution of issues. Additionally, the Test Analyst supports business users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), guiding them through the validation process.
Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential, as the Test Analyst works closely with a multi-disciplinary project team. They must adapt communication styles to suit various audiences, including those with limited technical or testing knowledge, to explain complex concepts effectively.
The Test Analyst leads critical testing activities, including UAT facilitation, system, and integration testing. They manage the identification and resolution of defects, working proactively with stakeholders, business analysts, and requirement owners to address testing roadblocks. Their efforts contribute significantly to delivering robust and reliable software solutions that meet business needs.
QualificationsMinimum of 2-3 years' experience covering all areas of the testing lifecycle in multiple industriesExperience in working in a collaborative and distributed Agile environment with minimal direction and supervision.Experience in Agile development lifecycle and practicesThe ability to liaise with staff across all levels of the businessExperience in writing and execution of test casesFamiliarity with being able to run, analyse and report on test outcomesExperience in reviewing and assessing testability of requirementsEffective communication skills, both written and verbalExperience in the use of Testing Tools specifically Azure DevopsTertiary qualifications or equivalent experience is desirableGood to have ISTQB Test Analyst CertificationGood to have ISTQB Certified Foundation Level Agile TesterAdditional InformationWhy join us: NCS Australia is where you can feel at home, nurturing your talents and skills as we make tomorrow together, one day at a time.
