Siemens Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation Business is one of the leading global suppliers of products, integrated systems, solutions, and services for the sustainable, reliable, and efficient transmission, distribution, and control of energy.We are looking for an experienced Tendering Lead to join our Solutions business. The Solutions business segment is housed within the Electrification & Automation Business unit and is responsible for the business development, tendering, and successful acquisition of electrical balance of plant packages for major projects including integration activities and the protection and automation schemes. We focus on projects that integrate the world-class technology of Siemens product portfolio and engineer turnkey solutions within the target vertical markets of data centers, renewables, utilities, mining, and minerals processing. Our business mandate covers Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.Driving early customer engagement with technical sales support, you will leverage your ability to establish credibility and trust with our customers, supporting them in scoping and specifying Siemens' value engineered solutions. You will continue the value chain by taking new opportunities through to bid phase and lead specific bids, utilizing your industry experience and technical expertise to win new projects for the business. Ideally, you will have experience in developing integrated solutions concepts and guiding the customer towards an optimized approach for their electrical balance of plant.Some of your responsibilities will include:Lead and drive bids for engineered electrical balance of plant packages in focus market verticals (data centers, renewables, utilities, mining, and minerals processing).Work closely with Sales team to implement our sales and marketing strategy and support early customer engagement on Solutions projects.Develop integrated solutions concepts and optimized systems architecture, as the basis for our customer offers.Lead the internal bid approval process for your assigned opportunities, in accordance with Siemens' compliance and quality processes, and manage the required inputs and outputs within the defined bid timeline.Conduct analyses of customer development, monitor the market and competition, identify trends/ market requirements and new business opportunities, and use these to support the development of future-oriented sales strategies for our target markets.Prepare quotations, with support from Siemens' subject matter experts and 3rd party sub-suppliers, conduct clarifications and support negotiations through to successfully securing the orders.Cultivate strong relationships with customers being responsive, trustworthy, and reliable.To be successful:Bachelor's degree (or other relevant qualification) in a discipline such as electrical engineering, automation, with specialization in power distribution.At least 3 years bid leading experience, preferably in the field of power distribution and/or electrical balance of plant systems.Experience in dealing with regional and international customers and understanding their investment and buying behavior. Good understanding of customer's business needs and effectively managing customer expectations.Product and system knowledge of medium & low-voltage switchgear, energy system protection, and automation is mandatory.Proficiency in IoT technologies, cloud technology, protocols, and communication standards, routing, wireless communications (e.g., MQTT, Modbus TCP/IP, IEC61850) is desirable.You have the necessary teamwork skills to operate successfully within a large multi-national company.You convert opportunities with strong customer orientation, cooperative negotiation skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a confident demeanor.You are proficient in MS Office applications and common CRM tools such as Salesforce.Siemens is a proud equal opportunity employer, creating a work environment of diversity and inclusion.
